Dreaming Alice: An Interactive theatre workshop for children and their adults

We are seeking experts at play and mischief to help us create a new theatre show based on the story of Alice in Wonderland. Join the artists at Whale Chorus theatre company for an interactive theatre workshop exploring creative play and storytelling.

Alice centres children at the heart of the theatrical action and nurtures the wonder of their imagination through interactive storytelling and creative play.

Suitable for children aged 12 and under.

About Whale Chorus

Whale Chorus is a theatre company based in Newcastle, NSW. Founded by theatre artist Janie Gibson our company comprises a growing chorus of emerging and established artists collaborating with the company.

Through live theatre, workshops and community engaged practice we seek to reinvigorate theatre’s true function as a ritual of reconnection. We create original work and reimagine existing plays in search of new ways of connecting to audiences through immersive and immediate theatre.

In addition to creating immediate live performance Whale Chorus are committed to nurturing the next generation of storytellers and theatre makers through our artist development and training programs.

Whale Chorus presents Alice: interactive performance workshop is supported by the NSW Government through Create NSW.


The Multi-Arts Pavilion mima (MAP mima) is wheelchair accessible, with flashing lights for performances. MAP mima amenities include two all gender (1 accessible RH transfer) bathrooms and two accessible carparks.

*There is limited parking available at MAP mima near the Cockle Creek Boat Ramp, please check the signs carefully as a portion of the carpark is only available to boat trailers and is regularly enforced. Alternative parking is located on Park Road, near Speers Point Pool, then a short walk down the promenade.
