Kakilliko is a grove of six eucalyptus trees that point to significant Awabakal places.
Planted in October 2023 the trees will be grafted together over time, continuing the cultural practice of circle trees.
Uncle Douglas Archibald is from the Gumbangirri clan of northern NSW and has lived on Awabakal Country since he was a child. His practice is focused around sculpture and storytelling. He is a founding member of the MAC yapang Aboriginal Reference Group.
During the launch, you will also be able to listen to parts of the MAC yapang Sculpture Park Sound Trail with the full experience launched 2025.
