Expressions of interest
Council is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from local creative individuals, community groups and organisations to be a part of the 2025 festival.
The community led events/activities will enhance the festival’s program of events coordinated by Council. These will include workshops, exhibitions, performances, and experiences that will support the festival’s themes.
Visual and performing artists, musicians, theatre groups, galleries and others are welcome to submit a proposal. This could be a one-off performance, an exhibition, workshop or another type of program or event that supports the festival’s theme.
Applications open: Friday 6 December 2024
Applications close: Sunday 9 February 2025
Successful applicants notified: Friday 14 February 2025

Apply for funding
Funding (up to $2000) is available for organisations/clubs/artists/groups to:
- Deliver classes or workshops
- Provide live productions or performances
- Host exhibitions
- Deliver an event or experience.
We expect the applicants would use the funding to assist in delivery and/or participation of the activity, e.g. providing the event for free that enables first-timers to try the activity, enable inclusive participation, etc.
To be eligible for the funding (part or whole) your organisation will:
- Hold the event within the month of June 1-30, 2025
- Utilise the funding on approved items as per Council’s funding Policy
- Provide details of the event/performance/workshop or exhibition for promotion as part of the festival program by the due date
- Provide logos and details of the organisation for inclusion on marketing materials and website by the due date, where possible
- Share festival content on social channels and any other channels the organisation uses
- Complete a risk assessment and ensure Public Liability compliance as required.
If you are applying for funding, please include the amount requested on your application and attach a detailed budget.
Council support
Council may support your event/activity by providing at no cost,
- a Council owned and managed venue to host your event/activity
- furniture, materials and equipment
- general promotion of your event/activity as part of the overall festival promotion on Council channels
- staff to assist in delivering your event/activity
- ticketing and booking support.
Successful applications
If your application is successful, you may be asked to,
- provide quality images and logos (specifications will be provided) to support the promotion of your event/activity
- promote your event/activity and the Dobell Festival on your personal (if applying as an individual), community groups or organisation’s marketing channels, including but not limited to social channels and website
- complete a risk assessment
- provide Certificate of Currency (Public Liability Insurance) minimum $20 million
- provide a Working with Children Check (if applicable to your event/activity)
- provide an itemised budget/cost of delivery if you have requested financial support from Council.
