Denny Breese
Realism, nudge the aspects of Impressionism, and are teased with tones of the Fauvist movement at the beginning of the 20th century. His favorite subjects to paint included coastal views and regional scenes from New South Wales in Australia. He's a beach lover who paints and a painter who regularly spends time on the sand and trails nearby—they feed each other. When he's discovering new coastal locations, he sees future paintings around every corner. After growing up in Southern California, Denny left the USA at age 20 to study teaching in Australia. It was here that his love of of the coast and creating art increased significantly. After completing his Bachelors of Arts degree in 2004 from Avondale University in Fine Art and Secondary Teaching in 2008, along with his Aussie wife, headed back to California. He taught high school art as well as other subjects for a few years. However, It was during the United States recession that circumstances took a major turn. Denny looked into the medical field and found physiotherapy. After graduating from the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Loma Linda University in Southern California he worked in a variety of settings while simultaneously painting regularly in the evenings and on weekends. Denny and his wife always knew they wanted to move back to the Land Down Under with their kids and finally after years of paying off massive student debt were able to relocate the family of four to Catherine Hill Bay, NSW. He is currently working as a physiotherapist in Australia and painting regularly. Most recently, Denny has expanded his repertoire of creations and is finding enjoyment in abstract art and design.
Denny primarily uses a variety of mediums to create paintings however acrylic paint, posca pens, pencil, glue and paper on canvas are his primary materials. In the past he has worked with oil, charcoal, pastels and watercolours however it is the ease, drying time, cost and abundance of acrylic paint that keeps him using acrylic paint.
