Diane has discovered the joy of sculpting using Hebel blocks through U3A classes. Though relatively new to the process, she finds the journey investigating shapes and finishes a fascinating one, despite it being a ‘vigorous’ art style. Her works are generally in abstract form as each sculpture takes on a life of its own, while on occasions, flaws and defects in the blocks create an unintended path – or render the shape suitable only for the bin. Experimentation is constant, and coupled with that, her learning can only evolve and progress.
