Helene Ruma is a Lake Macquarie artist specialising in paintings and drawings of animals. Since 2009 she has worked full-time as an artist completing a variety of projects such as three murals in New South Wales and Victoria, illustrated 2 children's books with another in progress and has taught art to school children and adults both locally and in rural Victoria. Helene has won several art prizes and in 2016 she also judged the Casterton Kelpie acquisitive art competition after receiving first prize in 2013. Currently Helene is focussing on experimenting with her own artworks in her gallery and art supplies shop in Wangi Wangi. As well as promoting her own works, she also invites other local artists to exhibit and sell their works.
