Jayne has practiced art from an early age and then went on to complete a Bachelor of Visual Arts and a Graduate Diploma in Art Education at Newcastle University. She has been an art teacher for 30 years, has had four solo exhibitions and has exhibited in several regional galleries such as Lake Macquarie Art Gallery, Watt Space and Maitland Art Gallery. Jayne Pinkerton-Frost artworks are semi-abstract reflections of her surroundings. Artworks are inspired by locations such as Lake Macquarie, Merewether Beach and iconic landmarks in Newcastle such as Nobby's Lighthouse. Works also include an extensive figurative series which celebrate the beauty and strength of women. Mediums used are Oil pastels, acrylic paint, watercolour, pencil, oil paints.
The JP Frost Studio is situated in Wangi Wangi, owned and run by Jayne Pinkerton-Frost who is an artist and a teacher dedicated to developing confidence skills and knowledge to create art. The opening of the JP Frost Studio is the result of a lifelong dream to help others find the artist within. The studio has been operating since 2018 hosting kids art classes, adult art classes and workshops. Participants learn and practice a variety of art skills, methods and mediums. In addition to artmaking, the experience is enhanced by meeting people and enjoying homemade morning tea in the garden courtyard. The JP Frost Studio is a fantastic workspace for groups and has an exhibition space with a selection of Artworks are for sale.
