Charmayne Mould
Charmayne's art practice is Macrame, a textile art of tying knots using different knotting techniques and materials. Constructing intricate patterns to produce decorative art pieces that are both stunning to look at and provide practical uses for the owner. Materials that are used include but not limited to cotton cord, wool, metal and wooden rings, beads, and embellishments. Charmayne has loved creating items her whole life. She loves all types of art and craft and has dabbled in all different areas. She started making friendship (macrame and french-knitting) bracelets in high school selling them to peers. At 15, she began cross stitch, long stitch and dabbled with knitting. As an adult Charmayne has created finger and hand puppets, masks, toys and other items with felt, clay, latex and other materials. She has created gifts for babies and new mums/families and cards for special occasions. She has created blankets, rugs, bags, clutches with different types of weaving (loom, square loom). Recently returning to the knot tying art of Macrame and producing a variety of articles from sculptured articles (animals and flowers) to hanging designs (hat hangers, wall hangers, plant hangers) and everyday items (clutch/bags, coasters).
Charmayne started Three Bush Babies handmade cards and gifts about 7 years ago which allowed her to amalgamate her love of art/craft and began to sell projects to the general public at markets and a cafe.
