Sam Blanks

Based in Cooranbong, Sam is an adept scientific illustrator with a flair for carbon dust, coloured pencils, pen and ink, scratchboard, and clay board with acrylic ink. Her honours degree in Natural History Illustration informs her detailed work in palaeontology, entomology, and botany. Sam’s artistry shines in practical forms including pouches, bags, cards, gift tags, bookmarks, and tea towels but also sells original art, cyanotype prints. Her cyanotype knowledge, using sunlight for printmaking, results in unique pieces influenced by daily weather, making each a singular testament to nature’s variability.
