Carolyn Haywood

The work I make is driven by a poetic response to the wonder of the beautiful natural world in which we live. Driven by a need immerse myself in it, I write poetry, draw, paint and print. The works begin on site, around the lake. Many also form intuitively in the studio.

All are explorations of creativity, where soul meets place, belonging and solace in the natural world.

Not intended as representational, they are more reflections of my experience of place. Some are developed directly from poetry I have written by the lake.

For me time and place become one as I work, seeking to draw attention to the need to protect this place that nurtures us.
