Jodie Reynolds is a local artist in Lake Macquarie. Jodie's studio in her home is her favourite place and where she feel inspired and motivated to embrace creativity. Jodie spends many hours exploring with acrylic paints, charcoals and chalk to develop various artworks using different mediums. Jodie is a proud indigenous artist from the Kamilaroi tribe. It is her passion to incorporate her culture into her paintings and tell the stories of her heritage, her life, her country and family. In 2021 Jodie entered the Mental Health Art Works Exhibition and was proud to be selected as the winner of the Indigenous award. Also in 2021, Jodie was selected as one of the 32 finalists in the Lake MAC yapang Emerging Indigenous and Torres Straight Islanders Artist Exhibition. Jodie's artwork was displayed and sold at the Museum of Art and Culture Lake Macquarie. Jodie's painting “The Night The Moon Cried”, has been selected to be showcased on a Bus Shelter on the extension of the Fernleigh Awabakal Shared Track Project with Lake Macquarie City Council. Jodie and another local artist Deanne Newland, have been busy in our local area covering walls and fences with Dynamic Murals.
