The Brigalow Belt project, led by Tricia Flanagan, explores the ecologies of the Brigalow Belt bioregion—an essential vegetation corridor along Australia’s east coast critical for food production. By focusing on plant experiences and human-plant interactions, the project invites audiences to question humanity's relationship with non-human life forms. Utilising cultural probes, wearable devices, and eco-conscious design, the project explores methods for fostering biosphere regeneration. Its outcomes will be showcased through an immersive 360-degree projection at the Multi-Arts Pavilion (MAP mima), guiding viewers through a visual and sensory journey across the Brigalow Belt from large-scale landscapes to microscopic views. This art-science-technology experience aims to cultivate empathy for non-human life, spark critical consciousness, and promote sustainable, regenerative futures.
