A Director's Challenge

A Director's Challenge.jpg

Rarely does a play make it to performance without some challenges for the director. Two old ladies test a young director to the limit.

Playwright - Diana Lovette

Diana’s love for acting began at age six when she was upgraded from lamb to Mary in the school Nativity play. Directing came a little later with the play Passage receiving second place in SOACT’s One Act festival with both actors nominated for Best Actor. Whilst studying a MA in Theatre Arts / Directing at The University of Newcastle, Red Devils (re Manchester United) received four nominations for CONDA awards. Play writing began in earnest with Basin when Riverina Arts commissioned Alanna Thompson (Newcastle) to workshop a team of seven writers. Ten minute play writing is a relatively new endeavour. Diana’s most recent writing credits include The Giant’s Dilemma, Enough Said, and What did I Say?

Diana is honoured to have her play, A Directors Challenge, presented in this year’s Lake Macquarie programme. She hopes you have many a–chuckle. And yes, she writes from experience!
