Beat the Truth

A research psychologist is fascinated by a quiz show Beat the Truth where people lie to win. He is using it as part of his study. However, one thing leads to another, and he ends up appearing on the show disguised, but winning it.

These days society is structured around lying – the politicians: Trump, Putin; the supermarkets and petrol stations that price gouge; the media, dedicated to sensationalism and a story; and in our own lives. It has become the modus operandi of society in many ways. Yet we are still suckers for the truth. The quiz show is used as a device to explore this.
