Deanne Newland

Deanne Newland is an award-winning Australian contemporary artist known for her captivating depictions of landscapes, specifically the serene beauty of Lake Macquarie, coastal vistas, and the iconic presence of gum trees.

Using ink on canvas, she channels an intuitive process that infuses her work with depth and emotion.
Deanne is fascinated with the textures, lines, and patterns in the bark of gum trees. This is evidenced by the way she melds drawing into the painting with ink highlighting the ever-changing surface of the tree trunk. Holes in the trunks of the gum trees can be seen, they are little windows framing the landscape.

She studied art formally at Newcastle University obtaining a Bachelor of Visual Arts, Diploma in Education and TAFE art and Design Certificate.
